Abdul Aziz Mohibbi 
Chancellor
Dr. Abdul Aziz Mohibbi was appointed Chancellor of Bamyan University by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan in January 2019. He received his Ph.D. in Agriculture and Environmental Engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, his Master’s Degree in Natural Resources Management from The School of Environment, Resources, and Development, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). He has ten years of teaching experience at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kabul University.
Dr. Mohibbi worked for more than six years in international and national organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme and Afghan Management Marketing Consultancy. He has also been advisor to the Afghan Parliament in the Commission of Natural Resources and Environment as well as a senior advisor with The National Environmental Protection Agency of Afghanistan.


Abdul Qayom Rezaei
Dr. Abdul Qayom Rezaei was born in 1984 in Bamyan province, Afghanistan. He enrolled in the Horticulture Department of Agriculture Faculty of Kabul University in 2003 and graduated in 2006 with a B.Sc.  He completed his Master’s degree in fruit science at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India in 2011. In 2014 he enrolled and thereafter obtained his PhD in International Agricultural Development, from the Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan. He has been working as a lecturer in Agriculture faculty of Bamyan University since 2007. Rezaei is currently working as dean of Agriculture Faculty of Bamyan University and also as head of Horticulture Department and dean of Geoscience Faculty. He participated in Afghanistan Agricultural Water Conservancy training program at Shihezi University, China from May 2019 to June 2019 and attended different workshops and short-term studies program inside and outside the country.

Hossein Mohammadi
Dr. Hossein Mohammadi was born in 1982 in Yakawlang district, Bamyan province. He graduated from Kabul University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agronomy in 2006. In 2011 he got his Master’s Degree from Department of Agronomy, faculty of Agri., UAS, Bangalore, India, then completed his PhD in UKM, Malaysia in 2018. In 2007 he participated in a training workshop on agriculture and livestock held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Panhandle Research & Extension Center. In 2006 he started teaching at the Agriculture Faculty, Bamyan University, while also working as the Project Implementation Unit Manager (PIU Manager) in Bamyan Province with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL)/ Asia Development Bank (ADB)/ Project of Enhanced Agricultural Value Chains for Sustainable Livelihoods (EAVS).  He is now working as deputy of Agricultural Faculty of BU.

Zainullah Hazim
Dr. Zainullah Hazim was born in 1984 in Ghazni province. He completed his B.Sc. (Hort.) at Kabul University in 2006, and joined as an assistant professor at the department of horticulture at Bamyan University. He received his MSc. (horticulture, Veg. Sci.) from India Bangalore University of Agriculture in 2010. He completed his PhD in Biotechnology, Horticulture vegetable at the King Abdul-Aziz University in Saudi Arabia in 2017 (the title of thesis was on “Breeding and QTL(s) mapping for some fruit quality traits of inter/intra F2 tomato population”). During his doctoral studies he joined in collaboration research teams between King Abdul-Aziz and King Abdullah universities on "drought and salinity tolerance of tomato wild genotypes” and consequently published five research article. In 2019 he successfully submitted a research proposal to the Matsumae International Foundation, and did a six-month research at Tokyo University of Agriculture (NODAI) on “Physiological maturity indexes and quality parameters of Micro-tom tomato eleven lines”. It received an award from MIF.

Mohammad Hassan Zaki
Mohammad Hassan Zaki was born in 1984 in Panjab district of Bamyan, Afghanistan. He completed his high school education in Panjab, then entered Agriculture Faculty at Kabul University after passing National Entrance Exam (Konkor) of Afghanistan. He graduated in 2006 and later got a scholarship and started his Master’s degree in Rajasthan Agricultural University, India, in 2010. He completed his degree from Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry Department in 2012. Mohammad Hassan Zaki has worked as a lecturer in Bamyan University, Agriculture Faculty since 2007.

Said Abas Aga
Said Abas Aga was born in 1991 in a science-friendly home, Taghab-e-Keshim district of Badakhshan province, Afghanistan. He completed his high school in Farmanqeli in 2009, then enrolled in Forest and Natural Resource Department, Agriculture Faculty of Badakhshan University in 2011, completing his degree in 2014. He joined Bamyan University as a teacher assistant in 2015.

Ghulam Hazrat Ghulami
Ghulam Hazrat Ghulami was born in a farmer family in rural area of Ghazni province of Afghanistan. Mr. Ghulami joined Balkh University in Agriculture Faculty, Forestry and Horticulture Department and graduated in 2010. He worked part time as a trainer in BEEST Project, AWEK NGO from August 2007 to May 2011. After that, he got a job at Ghazni Agricultural and Veterinary Institute from May 2011 to February 2014. He joined Bamyan University, Agriculture Faculty, Forest and Natural Resource Department from February 2014 to the present time.
Mr. Ghulam studied his M.Sc. (Agri.) in Environmental Science in University of Agricultural Science Bengaluru, India from August 2016 to July 2018 with financial support from World Bank. Additionally, he studied MBA in Indian School of Technology & Management in the same period online. He joined Afghanistan Agricultural Water Conservancy Seminar at Shihezi University, China from May 2019 to June 2019.
Mr. Gulam was honoured to take part in Indian Science and Research Fellowship (ISRF) for a six months research in University of Agricultural Science Bengaluru, India from December 2019 to May 2020.

Zakir Hussain Hassanzada
Country Manager, M&E (Action-Aid Afghanistan)
Zakir Hussain Hassanzada is currently working as Country Monitoring and Evaluation Manager with Action-Aid Afghanistan. A multi-skilled educator, an experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning professionally with over ten years of experience working with different international organizations, including Aga Khan Foundation - Afg and Action-Aid Afg towards quality programming in Afghanistan. Served a variety of roles, including MERL Assistant, MERL Officer and MERL Senior Officer and Regional MERL Manager and recently as Country Manager, M&E with Action-Aid. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature and has participated in the UNITAR Afghanistan Fellowship Program. In addition, he holds diploma in Research Design and M&E from Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan and received certificate of Meta-Analysis from MIT university facilitated by AKF from Hanoi, Vietnam.
He is trained in project management, research methodologies, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and skilled in statistical analysis software from attending different workshops hosted by international universities and organizations. Zakir Hussain’s vision is a decision-making leadership role at the top-level management of government agencies, donor agencies or international organization in the areas of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning and knowledge management in order to strengthen and institutionalize the transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency to have a better tomorrow for next generation of Afghanistan.
